What does beard oil do for my beard ?

While most people think that beard oil is made for your beard itself, it is actually designed to moisturize your skin under your beard to help promote healthy growth as well as soften your facial hair to make it easier to maintain and style. It will also help to eliminate that dreaded itch especially when you are just beginning to grow your beard.

What is beard balm ?

Beard balm is similar to oil in that it moisturizes your skin and softens your facial hair and it also helps you to shape your beard due to the beeswax. If you struggle with fly away hairs or just want to maintain a tight shape then beard balm is for you.

My Beard butter melted what do I do ?

When it gets hot outside products like beard butter and balm can melt during the shipping process. Melted butter will not effect how the product performs but can causes it to have a gritty texture. There are two options to reduce the grit. if the product is only partially melted you just toss it in the fridge for a couple hours and let it come to room temp before using. If you find that it is really gritty put the jar in the oven or toaster oven on 175 for an hour, stir and toss it in the freezer for 2 hours and it will be just as creamy as when it was shipped.

When is the best time to apply my balm or oil ?

The best time to apply oil or balm is right after a shower or washing your face. This way the hair follicles and pores are open and can easily absorb the oils. Caring for your skin and beard by cleansing and moisturizing is important to promote healthy growth and reduce brittle and split beard hairs especially in cold or dry climates.

 How much do I use ?

Depending on the size of your beard the amount of product you use will vary. Typically a dime sized amount of either balm or oil will do for average beard length. If you feel it's not enough apply a bit more. 

How do I apply my beard oil ?

To apply beard oil use the dropper to put a dime sized amount in the palm of your hand. rub hands together and massage deep into beard. For longer beards comb afterwards.

How do I apply beard balm ?

Scrape a small amount of product (about a dime size depending on your beard) into the palm of your hand, rub product into hands until it begins to melt. Massage deep into beard and comb to style. It's best to start out with a smaller amount and apply more of you feel you need more hold. A little goes a long way.

My beard is short do I need oil or balm ?

It is best for your skin and facial hair when growing a beard to use an oil to help keep it healthy and moisturized right from the beginning. It will also help to reduce the itch associated with growing a beard. A lot of people that start to grow facial hair will end up shaving after a few weeks due to the itch associated with the early stages of growing a beard. This can be solved simply by applying a small amount of oil or balm 1-2 times a day.

How long do the products last ?

This will change dramatically based on beard size. For most people a bottle of beard oil will last about a month to a month and a half. Beard balm will last about the same. For people with shorter beards, balms and oils can last up to 2 months

I left my beard balm in my hot car and it melted. What do I do ?

This does happen from time to time, your out at an event and you didn't want to be without your trusty beard balm and you left it in your car on the hottest day of the year. Not to worry, Woolly Wizard beard balm is made from all natural ingredients and will solidify again by putting it in the fridge for roughly an hour or leaving it at room temperature for 3-4 hours.

While some people may see beard oil and figure they are all the same the mixture of different carrier oils can have very different results on the skin and beard. We pride ourselves  on using only high quality ingredients to keep your beard growing healthy.

Allergies: Some people may have reactions to certain types of oils and fragrances. It is best that you test the products on a small area on your arm or wrist before applying to your face.
